Chris spent the last 30 years teaching the world about the use of analytics in banking and insurance. He began in 1987 as an insurance underwriter and joined FICO in 1989 to introduce automated underwriting systems and credit bureau data to the property casualty industry. In the Mid-90’s he became an Alliance Manager for FICO to manage the relationship with Experian with responsibilities to build revenue, maintain cooperative relations, and introduce new bureau scoring products.
Chris left FICO for Citigroup’s Global Strategic Analytics Unit (GSAU) as a Business Consultant in 2000 consulting on credit scoring related projects, leading educational efforts in credit scoring and credit bureau usage worldwide. In 2006, Chris joined HSBC as VP & Director Training & Development responsible for training on consumer credit scoring, credit risk management, Basel II/III and credit bureau topics. During his 10 years at HSBC, Chris wrote and delivered training courses on consumer credit risk management, credit scoring, credit bureau data usage, collections, Basel II/III, and small business scoring to over 4,000 HSBC staff from 35+ countries. Chris retired from HSBC in 2016 and enjoys consulting on topics from credit risk management to analytics, to data privacy.
Chris holds a BA in Political Science from UCLA, is married, and father to two growing daughters residing near San Francisco, CA.
